Carl Grevel

President

My Name is Carl Grevel. I am a Third Year Biological Anthropology student, who has just returned from his year abroad in the USA. I enjoy paleoanthropology and forensic anthropology. My goals for the society are to make sure that we do not lose track of the social side of things during these unprecedented Coronavirus times. On top of this, it will be the committee’s mission to better guide students in choosing their next moves following graduating.

Felicia Dean

Media Coordinator

I'm Felicia, this year's Media Coordinator! I'm a South African born Brit who was President of the Society from 2018 until 2019. I'm completing a Year in Data Analytics in my fourth year. I've loved being on committee and I'm looking forward to working on expanding the Anthropology community. Some of the highlights have been working on many firsts for the society, such as trips abroad and the Freshers coffee-crawl tour in town. Experiencing the community here at UKC and the Society has been such an amazing part of my time at University so far; the launch of this website is a wonderful continuation of that community in accommodating the current regulations. So join us and be a part of the experience!

Anna Turi

Secretary

I’m Anna, the Secretary of the Anthropology Society. I’m a third year biological anthropology student and AnthSoc has been important to me throughout my university experience. I was on committee last year as well and had such a great time I wanted to continue my active involvement. I have a bit of an obsession with organization (no seriously my friends frequently call me the real life Monica Geller) so I thought that the role of the secretary would suit me well this year. Despite the extenuating circumstances, I’m really looking forwards to what the society has planned for this year!

Lara Fisher

Treasurer

Hi I'm Lara, a 3rd Year Anthropology student and AnthSoc's Treasurer! Last year I had an amazing time as the Society's President so I'm looking forward to continuing my involvement by taking on a different role. As Treasurer I'll be overseeing the budget and helping in any way I can to make this the society's best year yet. Since joining, the society has provided me with some of my best memories and great friends. AnthSoc is important to me, and I hope that you too will see how great it can be when you embrace all it has to offer!

Hannah Brown

Welfare Officer

"Hi! I am a third year student studying biological anthropology. My favourite areas are currently behavioural ecology and forensic anthropology 🙂. Before university I studied an access course for university as originally I was going to be a teaching assistant and so here I am! If anyone needs any help with any issue no big or small feel free to send me a message on Facebook!  I want everyone at Kent to feel welcomed and supported, over the year I will hopefully be organising some welfare events such as coffee mornings and walks (socially distancing if needed) so we can all get to know each other 🙂. Fun fact about me... I have somehow gone from 2 to 27 houseplants over lock down, so if anyone needs some house plant tips i'm also available for that! I'm looking forward to seeing (virtually or not) you all in September! Xx"
